The changing face of Saree

Indian Clothes have always been able to bring out the beauty of Women.Maybe, its’s the tinge of tradition and values associated with them.Indian clothes has always been in trend because of its property to blend in any of the trend or fashion statement.

If we are talking about Indian wear, the discussion is incomplete without saree. For those who don't know what a saree is(although I highly doubt anybody would be unaware of what a saree is!),It’s a clothing item of about 4 to 5 meters in length worn by women by drawing it around the body.

Since thousand of years,Saree has been an integrated part of Indian Women’s lifestyle. In ancient times,Saree was a symbolic entity which defined a women’s upbringing & family. The way and weight(How heavy it is) changed according to occasions & family status.

Fast forwarding the timeline, now the world was in oh so revolutionary 19th Century. We developed, our lifestyle changed and so did our clothing. Now the modern women preferred wearing clothes that are comfortable for the whole day hustle. Saree wasn’t the exact best option for this. It’s difficult roaming around wearing it but still it didn't go out of fashion.Women still preferred wearing it at home or at special events.

Again going ahead in time, its now our favorite phase,The 21st Century. An unlimited cesspool of options in everything. You can never be out of option. And that's what makes us happy , doesn’t it?That's exactly happened, for women too.So many styles and kind of clothes to wear from. Saree could have gone out of trend but there is something about it,the inner feminine beauty that it brings out of the wearer has attracted the designers to do something innovative with the way that it has been worn till now.

Today, saree is not just for the rural women ,housewives or old age ladies. It has become a fashion saga of its own. There are now thousands of way of wearing it, and even if you discover a new way;its no more unusual,it just becomes a new trend.Even celebrities are preferring saree over western wear which has worked out profitable in favor of our economy. There are thousand of online shopping sites that offers you wide variety in Saree & other ethnic wear. Uttamvastra(This site is specially for Women Ethnic Wear.Isn’t it so cool!), Craftsvilla, Biba,Voonik are some of the names that are booming the Indian Ethnic Market.

With so many options & trending styles, saree is no longer just an Indian wear,it has become a global style signature. Saree has broken the stereotype of being worn by a particular section or on special occasion like it used to be.
